FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Announcements - April 2007

  • Two Board of Directors Elected:  Mike Clements and Jenny Ames were elected to the two open Board of Director positions.  Each will serve a two year term. Mike Clements and his wife Cheryl have been residents of the Hamlet neighborhood since August of 2005. They have two children, Grace and Charlie. Mike holds a BA in Management and is currently a Regents Scholar at the University of Minnesota in pursuit of an MBA. Mike is also employed by the University of Minnesota, working in the finance and operations sector. Mike enjoys playing hockey, spending time with his family, and going on date night with his wife.

Mike's main goals are to preserve and improve our neighborhood, our individual property values, and the safety and personal privacy of our residents and their families.

Jenny Ames will be serving her second two-year BOD term.  She and her husband Patrick have lived in Southbridge with their three children since March of 2000.  Jenny is a stay-at-home mom who also runs a “mom’s day out” preschool.  Prior to this, she managed IT training for a large financial and insurance company and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jenny’s goals are to keep communication effective and timely, while maintaining the Hamlet web site and helping the communications team.  She also wants to continue to work on streamlining BOD processes as well and make financially sound decisions for the neighborhood.

  • Annual Garage Sale will be on May 4th and Saturday, May 5th from 9am-3pm.  To participate, contact Dan Hennen.

  • We are still looking for neighbors interested in establishing a neighborhood watch program on their block.  50% of households in a defined watch area, minimally, must be willing to participate.  Participation entails coming to an informational meeting which will be held either at the Shakopee PD or at Red Oak Elementary at a date and time TBD.  After the initial meeting, the only requirement is that each watch area needs to hold two meetings per year, one of which must be on National Night Out, this year on Tuesday Aug 7.   This program takes very little time to maintain and will benefit everyone in our neighborhood.  Let's be proactive about crime in the neighborhood. Please contact Scott if you are interested.
