Hamlet at Southbridge Homeowner’s Association
Board Meeting Minutes
Date: Aug 8, 2002
Time: 7:30 PM
Location: 1725 Windsor Drive South
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. with the following board members present: Tom Pitschneider, Chris Gustafson, Lisa Johnson, Chad Rice and David Lindquist. A prospective new Treasurer and Board Member Jenny Smith was also in attendance.
Irrigation
- The Board received a quote from Metro Lawn Sprinklers for installing irrigation in four non-irrigated areas of Hamlet. The quote was for approximately $50,000.
- Chris Gustafson will get two additional quotes from other irrigation companies.
Sheds
- The Board made initial progress in defining rules for the types of sheds that would be allowed in Hamlet. Two categories of sheds were defined: Portable Storage Units and Permanent Storage Structures
- Portable Storage Units
- Located adjacent and within one foot of the house.
- Constructed of vinyl material (no metal sheds)
- There will be a yet to be determined size restriction for this type of shed. Tom Pitschneider is investigating
- Permanent Storage Structure
- Similar or better construction than the house for siding and roofing materials.
- Placed on a concrete pad
- Ten feet by twelve feet footprint size limitation
- Minimum five feet from property lines
- Portable Storage Units
Finance
- 2002 invoices were sent out on Aug 8, 2002.
- Shakopee PUC invoices were received.
- Tom Pitschneider will verify what areas each of the bills is for.
- Shakopee PUC invoices were received.
- Lisa Johnson presented current financial statements.
New Treasurer/Board Member
- Jenny Smith was interviewed for the open position
- Tom will arrange to have the other two interested parties at the next meeting
- A decision on how to fill the position will also be made at the next meeting.
Outside Storage Enforcement
- A lengthy conversation was held regarding the outside storage of trailers, snowmobiles, RVs, and boats. The Board realized that this was a highly sensitive topic and that a great deal of thought would need to be put into making the rules.
- Dave Lindquist recommended that a Rules Committee be established to compile a first draft of the rules for various topics like sheds, outside storage, etc.
- It was decided that a first draft of the rules be in place by the Open Meeting to be held in September.
Open Meeting
- Tentative dates were decided upon for the Open Meeting for the Association
- Date: Thursday, Sept 26, 2002
- Location: Red Oak Elementary
- Time: 7:00
